Important game to mention about took place in Santo Domingo. Eighth rankedLeones (7-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-best Caneros (7-6) 83-82 in the game for the second place. Worth to mention a great performance of center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and naturalized American Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Andre Norris (203-1994, college: Dubuque) with 20 points and 5 assists and Yeison Colome (190-1996) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Caneros players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Caneros and Indios.
